The Trump administration has issued a statement saying that House Republicans’ proposal to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program and expand the number of immigrants in the country illegally is unconstitutional.
“It is time to stop this unconstitutional policy and to start the process of real, hard work on fixing the immigration system,” the statement said.
“The president’s proposal will do nothing to help American families, nor will it solve the country’s immigration problem.”
The House bill would suspend immigration to the United States by any individual for four years, without regard to whether the individual has been convicted of a crime.
